Kidlington U13 WIN!

Well, what a game that was last night.

First in to bat and honestly, when we got to 17/5 after 6 overs, and the opposition Coach came over and sympathetically said, "You can just keep rotating your players to 20 overs once all your guys are out" I did think that was it.

But no, Kidlington was having none of it. Notable mentions on the wicket were Seth Allen and Jack McGrath who, with grim resolve, stubbornly refused to capitulate to the menace of Bletchingdon's bowlers and were largely responsible for our final tally of 77.

And so to the field. Well, all I can say is this is where the magic really happened. Last night was some of the best fielding I'd seen in the team all season. Kieran Russell kicking things off with a lazer-accurate throw to claim Kidlington's first scalp, closely followed by the keen eye of Kit Rush to claim our second. Then, like a leaping salmon, George Burns catches a ball he'd just bowled.

There then followed something I've not seen before where Cameron took 3 wickets in 3 balls. And another next over.

The Bletchingdon parents were beginning to fall silent.

Further capitulations and 5 overs to go and Bletchingdon were chasing 27 runs.

Could it be? Could we dare to dream?

Kidlington could smell victory and closed in on every ball. Bletchingdon being denied runs each time.

And so it was. Kidlington win. And what a sweet win it was too. I just wanted to say well done to the whole team. Everyone really gave it a shot last night and it's amazing how things can turn around.
