KCC under 15s put in a good effort against Horspath. Put in the field on a hot evening KCC gave a disciplined performance for the first 10 overs and kept the Horspath batsmen in check with a couple of wickets for Kamran Ramzan (4-0-26-1) and Oscar Hewitt (4-0-23-1). In his first match for KCC, James Bateman (4-0-16-0) was the most economical of the bowlers with not a single boundary coming from his four overs. Harry Brock picked up a wicket mid innings but KCC let things slip a bit and the batsmen cashed in to end on a daunting total of 147/3 off 20 overs.
In reply KCC struggled to get going and lost early wickets, however James Bateman (29) again gave an inspired performance on debut. After a careful start he launched into the Horspath attack, regularly lofting them over the field and was unlucky to be run out after a mix up with Jack Launchbury. Jack went on to finish 23 not out after good partnerships with first James and then Jacob Oliver (10) and Sam Kimber (6n.o.) to bat out the overs. KCC finished on 86/7 after 20overs.
A good effort by all in very hot conditions.
