Tippett's 6 is in vain

On a cloudy but warm day Kiddy won the toss and put Tetsworth in on what looked like bowlers wicket. At first this decision looked justified as Blackford restricted the home side to 14-3 within the first 6 overs. This was backed up by great opening spell by Ramzan at the other end who was unlucky not to pick up 1 or 2 wickets himself. Unfortunately Tetsworth then got on top and the free scoring Kamlesh started to put pressure on the bowlers. This wasn't helped by the injured Litten being unable to bowl more than 2 overs. The 4th wicket fell with Tetsworth on 72 from 16 overs but an 79 run partnership from Kamlesh and Babu put Tetsworth well on top. Tippett eventually getting the breakthrough. For Tippett this was just the beginning, picking up the final 5 wickets to end with figures of 6-24 . Tetsworth ended on 217 all out off of 44.4 overs.

The Kiddy innings didn't start as they would have hoped. Walker, Rodway and Kalyan all falling cheaply within the 1st 10 overs with Kiddy being 26-3. With Willmot and Woods now at the crease they looked to dig in and see Kiddy through this tough period but Willmot chased a wide, slower ball and nicked behind for 23. Woods then took on the mantle and started to open up, hitting Patel to all parts of the ground in a devastating display of hitting. Unfortunately he didn't have enough support at the other with Woods Snr, Litten, Tippett, Ramzan and Graham all falling for single figures leaving Kiddy on 114-9 from 29 overs. Woods was out the next over for a gallant 59 meaning Kiddy lost by 99 runs.
