It was a great pleasure to watch the Kidlington under 11 play against Combe. We agreed beforehand to play super 10s instead of super 8s to give more players a chance to play.
After winning the toss we chose to bat first. Jack McGrath and Mathew Collett had a fantastic start to get us on the board with 18 runs. Luca van der Linden and George Burns were able to add another 26 runs to this. The great contribution from Tom Spokes, Luke Mulcock, George Sherratt and Jack Gaskell saw us end on a respectful 257 runs.
We bowled a strong game and were comfortably in front until Combe brought on their secret weapon. With a mighty 34 runs by Alex from Combe, who we chose as player of the match for Combe, they ended only 2 runs short of us.
Overall, Morgan Jeacock showed the team how to be a good all-rounder with a fantastic 11 runs and 2 wickets, but the player of the match title went to Kaden Sinclair with 3 boundaries and 3 wickets. Well done Kaden!
We're looking forward to playing Freeland at home on Sunday 2nd June.
