Sunday's game against Banbury was another good match for the start of the under 11s season, on what was a welcome sunny morning. Banbury ultimately were a bit stronger than us in the batting - we needed to hit the ball a bit harder to catch up with them - but there were some fabulous individual performances. Kaden Sinclair's brilliant caught and bowled wicket, a sharp catch above his head; George Sherratt's two wicket over; tight bowling from George Burns; Morgan Jeacock being top scorer; Matthew Hunt throwing himself in the way of a cracking shot by Banbury to stop a certain four; Luke Mulcock and Kumayl Hussain getting their bowling right on target after a difficult start. Banbury chose Matthew Skertchly as their player of the match for his two wickets, cracking shots, a fine catch and general all-round enthusiasm. Well done Matthew!
Banbury had some very good players - their standout batter being Woodhead who scored 30 runs over two innings. We chose Diego Mulward-Tizoz as our player of the match for Banbury, for his great batting and bowling, and also being sporting enough to field for us when Kaden injured himself whilst fielding.
A great game played with really good spirit - well done Kidlington under 11s! Many thanks to Jeremy Skertchly for scoring, Nick Jeacock for coaching and Marco van der Linden for sorting the refreshments.
