On a very cold evening over at Bicester our first game of the season was on.
With only 5 main players from last season in the side I was not sure what the chemistry would be like, but from the minute we got to the ground you could tell this was going to be a good side for this season.
Owen opened up the bowling picking up the wicket of Robin with his first ball, finishing with 3-2-2-1, and with Oliver the other end 3-0-7-0 it was so tight they could not get the ball of the square!, it was not until the 16th over they hit scoring shots from 2 consecutive balls, but our fielding was master class by all, and a special mention has to go to Jacob Oliver who was amazing in the field this evening.
Behal 2-2-0-0 was also in fine form with the ball, and with Owen sharing the bowling around with everybody it was a great team effort which kept Bicester to 45-4 wickets in 20 overs,
On to our Batting with Owen and Behal, we got off to a flyer thanks to many many extra's and were 24 off 2 overs!, Owen fell first C&B for 4 and then a usual KCC Run out where the batsman forgot to talk led to the dismissal of Behal of 11, but Kimber (8 no) and McErlain (3 not out) got us home in 6 overs.
Thank you to Head Coach Paul Lazenbury who came over and umpired, and to Paul Hewitt who once was able to watch his son play a game of cricket!
KCC youth is really looking good this year, keep supporting us and coming to watch the games.
