Not even rain can stop the Kidlington under 13s from winning! Shipton travelled to Stratfield Brake to play us in the 8 a side league and they showed great sportsmanship in agreeing to play the game despite the persistent rain which fell for most of their innings. It was a closely fought contest with Shipton scoring steadily and losing only 3 wickets. All KCC bowlers did well to restrict the flow of runs and once again our under 11s proved to be a real handful for the batsmen, Finlay, Nicholas and Thomas Sherwood all returning good figures. Lauren Smith bowled with great control and took a wicket which proved very important in the outcome of the match.
The target of 258 looked a tough one in difficult conditions but KCC got off to a good start with Finlay and Nicholas batting with great confidence in a partnership of 28 without loss, both scoring 12. KCC then struggled a little as they lost a few wickets but the captain Kamran Ramzan came in to rescue the innings with a match winning 30n.o. as he smashed the bowling to all parts of the ground.
The final pair of Thomas Owen and Oscar played carefully to see out the victory for KCC, a great win against a good side which secures our place in the finals day!
