Big win for KCC U13s

KCC U13s kicked off their 8 a side league campaign with a resounding victory at Charlbury. It was a great team effort against a good side and was thanks mainly to the control and patience shown by the Kidlington bowlers and batsmen.
Charlbury batted first and made a strong start with 39 runs off their first 4 overs but KCC picked up two wickets to keep them in touch. KCC bowlers then applied good pressure to restrict the batsmen to singles and continued to pick up wickets. Charlbury's start batsmen Woody responded with some superb shots to get the score going again but once again the KCC bowlers got back on top to restrict the opposition to only 11 runs of the last 4 overs and picked up 4 wickets. Nicholas Owen was the pick of the bowlers, superb figures of 2 wickets off 2 overs for only 1 run! He was supported well by Kamran (3/14) and Saul (2/7). Joshua Behal did a great job as wicketkeeper taking took two catches.
KCC batsmen made steady progress in the first 4 overs Kamran and Tom Hall adding 19 runs, Joshua Behal and Jack Launchbury put on the highest partnership with 45 runs from 4 overs, both hitting boundaries. Wickets were falling but KCC were scoring well and comfortably ahead in the game. Thomas Owen and Oscar Hewitt added 33 runs with Thomas top scoring with 19runs. It was then down to Saul and Nicholas to finish off the innings with a good partnership of 23 runs.
