Kidlington under 13s were at home in their latest league match to Cumnor CC on Sunday.
Cumnor batted first and struggled in the first 5 overs as Kidlington applied pressure through wickets and good accurate bowling.
Cumnor made slow steady progress and with KCC mixing up the bowling they took advantage and increased the scoring rate. Kidlington fought back well to restrict the visitors to a handful of runs in the last few overs with Saul, Kamran and Thomas Owen all bowling really well and picking up some wickets.
With a target of 96 KCC need a steady start. Openers Saul and Ben looked positive in the first over adding six runs but the wickets soon started falling to clever bowling and good fielding. Kamran looked in good form but a lapse in concentration saw him bowled. Thomas Owen offered resistance and played some nice shots and a late flurry of runs from Oscar helped KCC pass the 50 mark but in the end it was well short of the target and a disappointing finish after a promising start.
So a decent show with the ball for KCC U13s but some work to be done on our batting.
