U13s off to a winning start

Kidlington under 13s played their first game of the season at Combe on Sunday. It should have been an 11 a side league fixture but Combe could only field 8 players so we agreed to play an 8 a side match.
Saul captained the side and led from the front with a great batting display and well supported by his team. KCC posted 273 from their 16 overs and everyone looked in good form.
In the field KCC were very impressive with some excellent fielding and accurate bowling. Under 11 Nicholas Owen stole the show with a fantastic display, grabbing two wickets for only five runs in two overs. It was a great team performance and everyone played their part a good victory but Jack Launchbury deserves a special mention for his fine performance in taking two wickets.
