KCC U13s battle hard to tie at Westbury

On a lovely sunny Sunday perfect for cricket an under-strength KCC travelled to Westbury to play their first league fixture. The football tournament at Stratfield Brake meant that KCC had to play this match away from home and it also robbed us of a handful of regulars.
Thanks to a couple of U11s and a player from the opposition we were able to field 11 players.
A fine batting display from Westbury saw them set a challenging total of 112 of 20 overs. The pick of the KCC bowlers was Joseph Keighery with 3 wickets for 7 runs from 3 overs.
In reply KCC set about the target with little fuss and looked to be coasting to victory with Matthew and Ajay leading the way with the bat. However, as has happened in many a match, a couple of wickets changes everything and the panic set in to make it a very tense finish with KCC lucky to save a tie from the last ball with Saul Samuel keeping a cool head to secure a run to tie the scores.
