u15s outplayed by Cumnor
15s struggle despite another decent bowling display
KCC U15s took on Cumnor at Stratfield Brake in their second match of eth 11 a side league. Cumnor seemed determined to get revenge after we got the better of tem last year and they proved to be a much stronger unit this year. KCC won the toss and bowled on a decent pitch. A steady start then gave way to some loose bowling which the Cumnor batsmen were quick to capitalize on and the run rate raced along at 7 an over for eth first 10 overs. Oscar Hewitt
and Jacob Oliver
were the best of the bowlers with Jacob coming back and picking up a couple of late wickets in a busy last over which saw three wickets go down and Cumnor finish on 138/6 off 20 overs. Toby Earp
and Sam Fransham
again bowled well but didn't get the rewards they deserved.
Batting seems to be a problem throughout the club at the moment and the under 15s are no exception. They struggled to get any momentum to the innings, only Josh Behal and Jacob Oliver
looked comfortable but neither could hang around long enough to threaten the Cumnor total. The one positive is that we batted our 20 overs but in the end we were well short ending on 57/7.
