On a hot day at the Brake, Captain Moss lost the toss and Charlbury elected to Bat
We always say catches win matches, well it might not have won us the game, but I think if I said 8 catches were dropped / should have been taken that would have been fair!
Charlbury were by far the superior team, with Harley (29) M Flory (41) and then the best of all Jenkins (90) taking apart the KCC bowling, should not go with mention of Ned Pratt taking the wicket of Flory with an unplayable ball, and Hewitt picking up 3 wickets as well, Charlbury finishing on 258 for 6.
Another good tea supplied by the Chairman’s wife, could that get our batting off to a good start?
Well the answer was no, with the only players to offer any resistant were Smith (40) and Da Silva (28),
A short match report this week, this has been one of the hardest season’s I have ever been involved with, but we are committed to this 3rd XI as this is the future of our club to bring through players such as Kalyan, Ramzan, Behal to name just a few.
We need a new Captain for next year who can dedicate himself or herself to the side for 16-18 matches, please come forward and talk to me, you will get the full backing from myself and Paul Hewitt, we just need somebody to help out.
