Pyrah with the Bat and Jed Launchbury with the Ball players of the day.

On a great day at Stratfield Brake could this be the game that could get our first win under our belt?

Well it started well with Moss (13) and Hewitt (25), Moss was first to go bowled again in the 14th over, Hewitt was in fine form but yet again got out to a bad shot but looked in great form, Eagle (3) could not get going today and was bowled by ex KCC Quinn, Woods (10) was his usual self, going for the big shots until being bowled, but it was Pyrah (55) who was the star with the bat hitting some great shots all over the park before being bowled, Kimber (6) hit a glorious four before being bowled, Launchbury (9) looked steady until again being bowled, Fransham ( 0 not out) playing his first game ran out of partners with Oliver (1) Pratt (0) Hewitt (0) all being bowled by Davis at the end, but we batted out 44.4 overs which was good, as you can tell most of us were bowled maybe a bit more batting practice is needed!!!!

In we went for the excellent tea provided by the Oliver’s as always.

So could we defend 148? Launchbury was the pick of the bowlers 12-1-25-4, (Yes I put 15 on the OCA website by mistake), with a dropped catch off the Captain which could have made it 5! Although he was responsible for a run out off his own bowling so I think he should be credited with 5! Oliver was not on form today 3-0-13-0, O Hewitt bowled very well (6-1-20-0), Pratt shows so much talent and sometimes we do ask too much of the U13 who is learning every game and he took an amazing wicket during his spell of 4-0-32-1, Woods back in the 3s was thrown the ball by the Captain after saying he had not bowled this year and did excellent 6.2-1-32-2, with a good catch by Moss making up for the dropped catch earlier, Fransham (2-0-14-0) and Moss (3-0-7-0) could not break through at the end and they got to the score from 36.2 overs, with a 4 from Quinn off Woods at the end to get the win, (Which should have been caught too!) it was disappointing to lose after having them 88-6 from 25 we should have done better, but we continue to develop our youngsters and everybody got involved.

Well played everybody and next week we have a bottom of the table clash with Deddington we can win that!
