Catches win matches!

On a cold windy day at the Brake Captain Moss lost the toss and we were put into Bat, (I would have done this anyway!)

Knowing we have a weak line up with the Bat, Smith and Eagle set out on surviving the first 20 overs, only for Smith (16) to be run out after a miss-understanding with Eagle when he sent him back, this brought in form De Silva to the crease to carry on the scoring which he did until failing for (18), Eagle next to go on (38) facing an unplayable ball, then a great shot from young Swadling (2) was his highlight, leaving Townsend and Moss to see us through the last few overs, Townsend (27 not out) as always after not playing for over a year looked Natural, Moss (8) not really with it this season after hitting a fine shot down the ground fell next , Smith (4) was next to go with a few balls left, leaving Townsend and Saleem to see us back.

With the Chairman's wife providing the Tea, we went on to try and defend a total which really needed to be 250 on a wicket which played well.

We say catches win matches, with Moss dropping the first (Very high), Smith behind the stumps not even seeing one (Very funny!), Townsend dropping one at first slip (Very Hard and great effort), Lauren Smith dropping the next (Very High), and the L Smith and De Silva both avoiding the ball in the Air it was one of those days!!!, but Ran bowled well, although the highlight must be young Simon Hague who bowled so well in his first and probably only game this season pick up 2 wickets in a spell of 7 overs for 28 runs,

We did pick up early wickets but they set out to hit us all around the park and that happened with Thomas (50 not out), good luck to Risinghurst for the rest of the season.
