KCC 3rds achieved a much deserved win in a rain affected match at Stratfield Brake against Charlbury.
KCC batted first and after an early wicket they settled in to building a good score with Martin Eagle (50*) and Paul Hewitt (51) both hitting 50s and John Pyrah smashing a very entertaining 32 not out to set a total of 161 off 25 overs.
Charlbury set off at a decent pace in pursuit of the total but were soon in trouble as KCC shared the bowling and picked up regular wickets. Martin Keighery and Ran Da Silva picking up 2 wickets each. As always with the 3rds there were fine performances from the youth players, Jonah Clarke kept wicket with his usual enthusiasm, Oscar Hewitt and Joseph Keighery bowled well and Lauren Smith fielded superbly. Great to get a win again in a tough season.
