Youth all round good performance

Captain Moss won the toss and has no hesitation to bowl first against 8 man Deddington, We had a great start with Webb 6-0-28-2 starting with a couple of wickets and restricting Deddington to 15-2, but then the Deddington big guns of Bletchley (70) and How (115) went after all our bowling but we kept going and everybody bowled really well, Hague 12-0-42-2 bowled really well and was so unlucky no to pick up lots of wickets, Launchbury 7-0-42-0 Hewitt 5-0-28-0 Smith 4-0-29-0 and Keighery 5-0-24-1 and P Hewitt 6-0-43-0, the most bazaar part was was Hague bowled hit the bowler on the pad nobody appealed apart from Moss at Mid Off and the umpire gave it! but Deddington played well and it was going to take a big batting performance with 8 youth to win this game!

P Hewitt and Moss opened the batting and got off to a good start until Moss (18) was out LBW to a incorrect decision but then I am writing the match report!, that brought Eagle to the crease and with Paul Hewitt they kept up with the run rate until Eagle (35) was caught superbly with a diving catch at square leg, Brock (0) was next to go, Hewitt (46) gifted a catch to send what was a great batting display from the youth Chairman, Clarke (7) was disappointed to get out, Lauchbury (7) Smith (9) all started well but failed to get big scores, Webb (25) played some great shots but again was caught going for the runs with a stunning one handed catch by a Deddington player running backwards, Keighery (10) batted well and the innings came to an end when Hague (3) was run out.

The highlight of the game must be the 2 stunning catches from Lauren smith and 1 from Joesph Keighery, well played to both of these youngsters.

It was disappointing to lose this game but the youth are all getting valuable experience in the senior game, its not about the league position for this side it is about preparing these U13, U14 and U15 players for senior cricket, All the opposition we have played this year wish they had the youth coming through we do, we will stick to our policy at KCC and we will see the benefits of all this hard work in years to come.

Well played everybody.
