Vanquished!!!!

Once again KCC were left short and decided to make the most of a youthful team and bowl first. And we were of to a half decent start when S Samuel and O Hewitt restricted the runs early on. O Hewitt made the breakthrough when J Keighery took a remarkable catch. P Hewitt just could not find his rhythm whereas J Keighery dismissed two batsman in two balls, one caught one caught behind by new wicketkeeper Jonah Clarke. After some expensive overs the captain decided to bring on M Keighery who restricted the Westcott batsman and finished with excellent figures of 8-1-24-1.
on came S Samuel again and took three vital wickets that got us back in the game, temporarily! despite H Brock gaining his first senior wicket and the positive bowling from our team the overs got expensive and Westcott were hitting continuous fours and finding gaps around tired KCC players and Westcott finished on a daunting score of 231.
After an exceptional tea ,we aimed to just bat the overs and put on a respectable score ourselves. P Hewitt and J Clarke opened the batting and things were going pretty smoothly until they both gave away their wickets. after mistakes by various of our middle order it was down to H Brock and O Hewitt to stick around and they did so when they collected some valuable runs until they too gave away their wicket.
