Swinbrook too strong for youthful Kidlington

We knew it was not going to be easy with nine and only two of them seniors! However we were determined to bring a fight to Swinbrook. Hewitt won the toss and decided to bat first. M Eagle and J Keighery opened the batting and despite Keighery looking solid he was the first to go to a very good ball. P Hewitt and M Eagle were holding the innings together nicely until a good looping delivery dismissed P Hewitt for 15. J Launchbury was next to go despite cracking lovely 4. By the 40th over we were bowled out for 72. After a wonderful tea we were ready to go despite having a mountain to climb. S Samuel opened and did a good job keeping the runs tight before eventually dismissing their opening batsman. J Launchbury bowled well in a difficult situation and was unlucky not to get a wicket. O Hewitt thought he had got his first senior wicket before the other team realised the game was over! A very positive perfomence from KCC youth. Thank you to Marcus Hewitt who helped us in the field.
