3rd XI get thumped against Britwell!

Skipper Moss won the toss on what was an excellent batting wicket but with a weak side he put the opposition in to make a good game of it and you never know what could happen!

Opening up with our U13 pair of Ramzan 5-0-36-0 and Samuel 10-2-31-1 it is an amazing feeling to be seeing these guys develop, Samuel was the pick of the youth bowlers today.

We had U13 Lauren Smith in the side as well, but unfortunately after an amazing outfield stop of the ball pulled her groin and had to leave the field for the rest of the game.

This then brought Launchbury 12-0-56-1 and Moss 9-0-45-5 (Yes this is not a mistake!) on to bowl, but with Khurshi (141) hitting the ball all around the park it was not easy but we stuck with it, although we dropped a few catches and as we all know catches win matches, but the main one to be taken was that of Khurshi with a few of overs to go, hitting moss with a massive blow to Cow, only to find the safe hands of Erik Britton to take the catch which was to bring Moss his first 5 wicket hall since his youth days!

We were treated to a Hazel De Silva tea for the 1st time and certainly did a great Job, but a few too many cakes were eaten!!

Then on to our batting, with Crosby and Launchbury opening because they had to leave early, Crosby (0) went early, that brought Britton with Launchbury who steadied the ship until Britton (19) was caught, Hewitt (0) then was also caught, and then Launchbury (40) was also caught, but played a great innings and is great to have a new player like this in the side Samual (4) was the next to go, Moss (7) holed out to point chasing runs again, J Hewitt (0) was also caught and that left Ramzan (6 not out) on his own with Lauren unable to bat, leaving us all out for 91.

We again did ourselves proud and was a great game.
