3rd XI Lose out in Wet Wicket game at the brake!

The day started at 6.00am, with a few of us moping the outfield in an attempt to get the games played, and with the support of Wooton and Boars Hill willing to overlook pats of the ground which were not great the game took place!
It started badly with the Skipper losing the toss and being put into bat, the wicket did not play bad but we always needed 120 to be a competitive score,
Unfortunately Erik Britton was run out after slipping for (2), But Razwan Dogar playing some great shots including a massive six took us along to 34-1 with the ever stable Christine Blackford playing his first game back this season., but then the Kidlington tumble happened!, Blackford (6), Crosby (1) James (6) Webb (0), Saleem (0) Dogar (21) with Moss running out of partners tried to push on but got caught (11), and Carroll run out (2) Whitehead 1 Not out we posted a very poor 71 all out.

Tea ladies as always were prepared for us coming in 10 overs early, and as normal a great tea it was!
Then it was time for Wooton & BH to chase down the runs, some inspired bowling from Webb (2-32), Britton (1-12) and Whitehead (1-15) Carrol (1-16) Crosby (1-2) made the game very interesting but we were never really in charge of the game and completed victory (72-7), but with Mark Taylor getting many runs (23) we did not look like getting him out, until Harry Whitehead saw the ball sail over his head, but with back tracking sticking a hand out a little tumble but a clean catch, was the highlight of everybody’s match, and was given the honour of walking off the field first.
Well done to all that played, a great team to be captain of and am proud of all our young guns!
