More league misery from the stiffs

The stiffs made their way to the lovely home of east and west hendred CC and as always were greeted by what looked like another lovely wicket and having won the toss the skipper had no hesitation in batting first.
Oliver opened up with a different partner this week with KCCs leading run scorer Raz, who is still carrying an injury looked to go on the offensive from the off, having got away with a few early scares raz went for yet another big shot and holed out for 11 in the 7th over .
Oliver was joined by Boyce having returned with a tan from a few weeks off!. they rotated the strike nicely and put any poor balls away to the boundary. Wiley bomb dropper Baring was introduced to the attack with the score on 75 and his slow slow slow deliveries proved too much temptation as Boyce went dancing down the wicket running straight past the ball and was stumped for 30 with the score now on 99 from 23 overs. that was the fist of Barings 3 wickets.
Oliver was still at the crease but partners started to come and go now with great frequency, Jeacock adjudged LBW for 4 was thge first of Martins 6 victims and Brock fell the very next ball , leaving Swadling facing the hatrick ball . this came to nothing thankfully but unfortunately swadling and debutante Mckenzie became Victims to barings Bombs . leaving KCC 129 for 7.
The younger of the launchbury brothers Jed joined Oliver at the crease and they looked to push the score along , Jed unfortunately went for one too many big shots and Holed out i the deep for 12.
Oliver and Oliver were now at the crease when Oliver senior bought up his century but unfortunately he didnt last much longer and also holed out in the deep looking to push things along.
Jacob was joined by Tony who unfortunately didn't trouble the scoring , Followed by Jonah who followed suit leaving the stiffs all out in the 43rd over for 181, which didn't feel like enough

after tea we took to the field and if we were to stand any chance of defending this total we needed a few things to go our way, Oliver Jnr and the senior Launchbury Opened up but things didn't start to well for young Jacob any off line went to the boundary. The skipper made the first Bowling change after 6 overs bringing younger brother Jed on to bowl in tandem with his older brother Tony.
both bowled tight and Jed released a ball slightly early and as Clewley the batsman hit the deck and the ball struck the top of the stumps , KCC thought they had there man but somehow this delivery was deemed to be above the 6ft openers waist and called a no ball ... also bearing in mind that their is a slope at both ends and the stumps are lower than the popping crease makes this decision even more ridiculous .. however despite Our thoughts it was called and we had to respect the umpires decision , unfortunately for KCC Clewley went on to amass 63 before finally being adjudged LBW and having done a great deal of damage.
Martin was also having a good day after taking six wickets he was dropped from a few really tough chances and ended up not out for 48, unfortunately KCC just couldn't recover from the early disappointment, we took 5 wickets but Hendred got home in the 43rd over .
well bowled and fielded again though lads

great effort lads , special mention to Jonah who took a great catch behind the stumps for our first wicket, and also Josh who put his body on the line with some great stops in the field, fingers crossed your thumb is ok
