catches and partnerships are the order of the day

Oliver won the toss and went against all of his cricket beliefs on a glorious day put the opposition in to bat . having been destroyed by Shrivenham earlier in the season Oliver was nervous that it could have been a long afternoon in the field,
Shriv started well with perera hitting anything that was bowled to him to the boundary, however his stint was to be short lived as he fell into Launchburys trap in the third over going for another big shot caught in the deep by the skipper for a quick 22.
both Bowles batted well and both looked to rotate the strike until the patnership was broken by a brilliant catch from blackford off of Grahams bowling . withe the score on 92. Graham then bowled the other bowles picking up his second wicket to end with 2 for 44 from his 12 , Launchbury was less economical than usual but went for a steady 6 an over for his 12 taking 1 for 73 , tony was replaced by his younger brother jed and graham was replaced by Behal from the pavilion end ..
both found it hard going to start with as Shriv looked to accelerate , but the fifth over of both of there spells became crucial with behal bowling a wicket maiden and Launchbury picking up 2 LBW decisions in his 5th too.. both bowled tightly with jed picking up another wicket in his sixth with a great catch from Graham in the deep, and also picking up his 4th wicket in his 9th over finishing with 4 for 55 from his 9 going at exact;y the same run rate as his brother.
however Behal was the pick of the bowlers and finished the shrivenham innings clean bowling there last batsman ending with figures of 9.3 over 3 for 30, leaving kcc with a reasonable chase of 209 to win.

a lovely tea was had by all and kcc set about the task in hand, oliver and jeacock opened up and Oliver edged the first ball of the innings to gully who thankfully obliged by dropping the relatively easy chance, jeacock however was to fall in the fist over when he mistimed a pull shot and it just went up for an easy catch for the keeper.
Rodway was next at the crease hoping to build from his great innings last week and immediately looked to dominate striking anything wayward to the boundary, the partnership was going along nicely when Tim went for one too many shots and was bowled by Bowles whose celebration was such youd have though he just took his first ever test wicket!! Rodway (45)was replaced with Pratt who continued where Tim had left off and immediately took on anything wayward and hit some lovely boundaries including two nice 6s , unfortunately pratt again missed a straight one going for another big shot and was bowled for a superb 45 , the score now on 164 kcc were in a strong position Oliver then bought up his 50 with yet another single in the 30th over , unfortunately he didnt see it through and was bowled by bowles for 60 with kcc still needing 5 an over to see us home, blackford was in fine form and took the lead role with launcbury and Hewitt both going cheaply it was left to blackford and Behal to see us home in the 43rd over with a perfectly timed 4 to finish off what was a perfectly paced run chase with blackfor not out for 32 and behal not out 3

a great game of cricket, the whole team were superb from start to finish , we gave everything in the field and came out victorious against a strong shrivenham side , a top week which takes us into the final game with charlbury with them needing to win to be in with a chance to snatch the title from shrivenham..
