KCC v Oxecnford

we started on time in what would turn out to be the last bit of sunshine for quite some time, Oliver won the toss and elected to bowl thinking that things may change with overs etc so we could be in a better position knowing out target score. KCC yet again started without a full 11 players as one person just simply didn't turn up!!

KCC opened up with Ramzan and Blackford at the two opposite ends of the age spectrum for the club but certainly not in ability with both bowlers keeping things tight and creating a few hard chances that were not taken early doors , oxenford lost 2 wickets one adjudged LBW from Launchbury Senior and a caught and Bowled from Blackford ..we had done our job nicely of keeping the score low at 99 off of 21 overs before the heavens decided to open up. covers were quickly in place and off we went.

a short interlude and we started the first round of operation puddles , the Bow Dry proved its weight as it soaked up the standing water nicely , with many trips to the boundary later we were almost ready to start when downpour number two hit .. this time with some vengeance so an early tea was taken .

again operation puddles commenced with the umpires giving us until 17:30 to get it match ready , the hour flew past and unfortunately we just didn't have enough time or Bow Dry machines to get the task done ,so we retreated to the bar and enjoyed the late afternoon sun (alone I might add as oxenford had another appointment :( )

a special thanks to all 10 players for the effort that was taken to try and get the game on everyone mucked in but the task was too big lets hope for sun next week :)
