Sunday saw cup fever at The Brake.
Middleton Cheney won the toss and decided to bat on another road at The Brake. Interestingly Kiddy opened up with Ramzan and Willmot in a ploy to buy some early wickets and the risk paid off. Willmot picked up 3 of the top 4 in quick succession with only Ayab providing any resistance. Tippett then came on for Ramzan and carried on his success with the ball claiming 4 more wickets. Willmot picked up his 4th scalp, Ayab (70) leaving Farrant to come on and mop up the tail. Cheney ending on 157 all out from only 35 overs.
Lazenbury and Walker then went into beast mode and murdered Cheney to all corners of the ground. Boundaries followed boundaries. A growing crowd on the sidelines appreciated the immense hitting of the opening pair. Lazenbury eventually fell for 87 with Kiddy needing 4 less than 10 to win. Walker ended with an awesome 57 not out and 2nd team skipper Oliver added a nice little red inker to his 115 not out the previous day.
A convincing win for the team and they motor onto the semi's against Risinghurst on 30th July.
