2 wins in a row

On a warm day Cairns Fudge won the toss and and chose to bat on an absolute road at The Brake.
Even with the rare occasion of Litten and Farrant opening the bowling together Kiddy struggled to get a grip in the early overs with Fudge racing towards 50. Small and Shaw putting the pressure on the bowlers and the field. Litten got the break through with a long hop that Small didn't get hold of, being caught superbly by Graham on the edge of the inner ring. Fudge again put the pedal down and pushed themselves over 100 within the 1st 15 overs. Then a bowling change at both ends halted the run rate with Willmot and Graham picking up vital wickets while strangling the boundaries. Fudge were unable to gain any of their early momentum back Farrant came back on to pick up 3 wickets leaving Fudge to finish their overs with 231-7.

The Kiddy innings started with a bang, the first 8 scoring shots being boundaries. Unfortunately a small nick behind saw Walker on his way for 16. This gave Rodway an opportunity at the crease and again he showed how good the pitch was scoring 24 in quick succession, all in boundaries, before chipping a catch up to the inner field leaving Kiddy 92-2 off of 13. Meanwhile at the other end Lazenbury was going about his business in typical style, closing in on his 50. Eventually though he would also fall to a catch in the 22nd over for 69. With the score at 133-3 Kalyan and Woods started to boss the game. Kalyan showed his class off the front and back foot through the covers and Woods his touch with guided boundaries behind square on the off side. Kiddy reached 30 overs with the score on 164 with the loss of no more wickets. Kalyan and Woods now in total control with Woods doing all the forcing and Kalyan maturely backing him up. Woods got his 50 and at that point Fudge looked buried and it was only a matter of time until they were. Woods hit the winning boundary in the 39th over to end on 61 not out, Kalyan at the other was unfortunate not to make 50 but ended with a classy 47 not out to see the side home and win by 7 wickets.
