Kidlington U14 shines for Oxfordshire

On a hot sunny day in Oxford, Oxfordshire U14 played Staffordshire U14 at Magdelan College

Batting first Oxfordshire got off to a good start, but then which resembled a Kidlington claspe were in trouble at 80 for 4, but in came Markus Jeacock to do his usual steady the ship innings, with a fine array of shots in the first few over's, only to find the fielder on every occasion.

Once steady he showed what a great prospect he really is and played some shots which only a batsman of his class could play at this age,

Unfortunate to be run out for 23 in the 41st over of the match chasing all the runs they could get, the Oxfordshire side managed to get to 140 all out,  he showed the management of the Oxfordshire squad he should be a name on the selection sheet for every game.

Staffordshire looked very strong with the bat, and looked to have got the game won after 30 overs, but then with a few wickets falling quickly it took them to the 42nd over to win the match.

Well done Markus, you did yourself and Kidlington proud today.
